If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I
dwell by the farthest oceans,

even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
For
the next few weeks we will look at something very interesting - From Psalm 139, we
will see the characteristics of our relationship with JESUS.
You may be surprised and delighted to know how deeply it runs! The
Lord is with us to guide and support Now
there is something I really need! Guidance, that is. And support!
But there are two things about these two things you should know: 1.
It is possible to follow or not follow a guide. It is a matter
of choice 2. Support is also
optional, as opposed to tyranny. JESUS is
no tyrant So, in a very loving way, JESUS
set it up so that HIS guidance and support are
optional (at least our cooperation is). HE
will always lead and HE will always aid us.
But it is up to us to follow. That is
why we refer to the life with our SAVIOR as a Path.
If you have ever been hiking, you know that it is possible to leave the path through
distraction, idle thinking or just downright foolishness. We
all stray sometimes and to some extent. Here is a great verse for getting back
on the track: James
4:8 Draw nigh
to God,
and
he will draw nigh
to you. Great
news. We turn back to the path (even one step) and HE
puts us back on the path! This is
not a condemning message. When we stray, it is because we are inviting sin or
we are in a world mindset. Be willing to hear HIS
words, and turn to him. In the lyrics of an old Petra song: "Even
though you are a thousand miles away, it's only one step back!" Take
