Lack Is Only Temporary, HIS Supply Is Permanent! 


(Editor's note: The Hebrew notion of Salvation (Deliverance) included much more than forgiveness and eternal life. Salvation meant freedom from debt, worry, fear and sickness.  Power over enemies, total victory and possession of a land was integral  to the concept.  Today many believers have been put off by hyper-prosperity teaching.  This teaching may have been responsible for many believers retreating entirely from the True Gospel, which portrays CREATOR as SUPPLIER

"I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret 
of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."

 

Do you know the secret of life?  Do you like to know secrets? Do you hate it when you know there is a "secret" buzzing around your head, but you don't know it?  Well, let's go get this one straight from the Apostle Paul.

First, let us agree that the Bible Never Contradicts Itself!  Psalm 23 says, "The LORD is my SHEPHERDI shall not want."  But Paul said sometimes he found himself in a condition called want.  This would seem to be a contradiction, especially when Paul, writer of the majority of the New Testament says it.

So why did this occur and what is the secret that Paul is referring to?

First, the reason Paul was in the state of want, or lack, was the lapse of Supply that should have come from the Philippians Church (and others that should have rightfully been supporting his ministry).  This was not FATHER'S plan for Paul.  Paul makes this case over and over.  He has a right to material support, but either chose not to receive it (Corinthian Church) or failed to receive it (Philippian Church).  So if all had proceeded properly, Paul would never been in a state of want.

There are times in our lives when we are in a state of want or lack.  Like Paul, this is just not FATHER'S plan for us.  But it happens when someone, somewhere along the line "drops the ball."  If all worked together properly and we always follow the SPIRIT we will never see lack. So lack is not a GOD-given state!  JESUS said that HE feeds the birds and clothes the flowers so we do not need to worry ("O ye of little faith."  JESUS said that).

The secret . . .   Come with me.  When we have more than enough in the visible realm, we only need to give thanks.  We have it all right there under our hand. This is a good state.  Right? Want to know a better state?

When we lack, now we must take action.  The only realm we will ever lack in is the visible realm.  Are you with me?  We never lack in the spiritual realm.  That is the realm that our FATHER dwells in.  HE has promised to supply ALL (not part, some or a little) our needs!  Still with me?

The secret . . . When we lack, we have the greatest (and only) opportunity to show FATHER that we trust HIM and have faith in HIS promise.  See?  That should put a little smile on your face.  

The secret . . . Lack is a temporary state that is not the will of our FATHER!  It is to be warred against!  It is not a state the HE wishes us to be in for long.

The secret . . .  Lack does come because we live in a world where at least 50% of the time people do not do the right thing. This "snowball" effect cause the condition of lack.  We can be in a state of lack for a day, week, month, year or lifetime!  The choice is ours!

The secret . . . Get out of it as fast as you can have faith in FATHER to do exactly what HE says . . "Supply all our needs."

So no wonder Paul learned to be content. He never let fear rush in in times of lack.  He swung the axe of faith and chopped lack off at the roots!  You can too!  So, now that you know the secret . . . .   Go do it!  Today!  Bring HIM Glory!!!
