Your ALMIGHTY GOD Is Your Supply!

(Editor's note: The Hebrew notion of Salvation (Deliverance) included much more than forgiveness and eternal life. Salvation meant freedom from debt, worry, fear and sickness.  Power over enemies, total victory and possession of a land was integral  to the concept.  Today many believers have been put off by hyper-prosperity teaching.  This teaching may have been responsible for many believers retreating entirely from the True Gospel, which portrays CREATOR as SUPPLIER

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.  We always carry around in our body the death of JESUS, so that the life of JESUS may also be revealed in our body."  2 Corinthians 4:8-10

Not abandoned

Abandon

From the dictionary:

1.  transitive verb  leave somebody behind:  to leave somebody or something behind for others to look after, especially somebody or something meant to be a personal responsibility

5.  transitive verb  halt something in progress:  to stop doing something before it is completed, usually because of difficulty or danger

[14th century. From Old French abandoner , from a bandon , literally "under control," from, ultimately, Latin bannum "proclamation." The underlying idea is of giving up control.]

Abandoned is what Paul said he was not.  Not abandoned.  Perplexed, yes.  But not abandoned.  By whom was he not abandoned?  By his FATHER!

When we are perplexed, we can feel abandoned.  Right?  Are you with me?

Perplexed

1.  puzzled:  puzzled, and usually troubled by doubt

[15th century. Via French from Latin perplexus , literally "completely woven together," from plexus , the past participle of plectere "to weave together" (source of English  plexus).]

So there is the definition of perplexed.  Have you ever felt that way?  Notice that the derivation of the word comes from the Latin meaning "Complete woven together."  I have another way of saying this.  "All tangled up."

We can easily become perplexed, puzzled, and worse yet, full of doubt.  It is natural.  It is human.  But Paul saw this clearly in the reality of GOD'S SPIRIT.  He may admit to being puzzled at times, but never abandoned!

And of course, he was not referring to man, but to the FATHER!  His (and our) FATHER would never abandon him (or us). a lesson we must learn to be successful.

We are loved with an everlasting love.  In the midst of the ups and downs of this world, we are secure!  When the job, fails, the pay is cut, the stocks go down . . . we must remember WHO is our Supply!  It is not the market.  Not the employer.  Not the social service.  It is none other than the ALMIGHTY GOD, MAKER of Heaven and Earth!  We are secure.  We cannot fail.

Just like Paul, we must constantly remind ourselves that we have nothing to fear.  HE is faithful and will never, never, never abandon us!
