The People Of GOD Being Well Supplied Are Rich In Giving!

(Editor's note: The Hebrew notion of Salvation (Deliverance) included much more than forgiveness and eternal life. Salvation meant freedom from debt, worry, fear and sickness.  Power over enemies, total victory and possession of a land was integral  to the concept.  Today many believers have been put off by hyper-prosperity teaching.  This teaching may have been responsible for many believers retreating entirely from the True Gospel, which portrays CREATOR as SUPPLIER

Rich And Poor Alike

I used to love a song by Orleans called "Ticonderoga Moon."  I always thought it was written because someone dared John Hall to write a song using the word, Ticonderoga.  I was speaking to John a while back and flat out asked him if that was the case. "No." He said.  He just always liked the sound of it.

I like the sound of this verse!

"both low and high, rich and poor alike"

Did you know that is the way JESUS looks at HIS people?  Alike, I mean. HE does not make a distinction between the two.  HE does not overly respect the rich and HE does not underly respect the poor.

But we do.  We have allowed a terrible thing to happen.  We have let ourselves respect money in a person and disrespect the lack of it in others.  This is not HIS Way.

Now I have waited all these weeks to say that because I did not want anyone to think this is a bump on the rich.  JESUS loves for us to be well Supplied so that HIS Kingdome is well Supplied.  The rich are to be rich in giving.

What has happened though is that there is no longer a respected poor in our lives.  There used to be.  Many of you reading this may not remember because you were too young.  But there was once a respect for those who worked hard, had very little in the way of possessions, but had a great wealth of wisdom and knowledge!

I miss those days.  Now it seems if your car is old, your house a bit ramshackle, your clothes tattered, you are the object of scorn.  Let me say that it is not to be so in HIS house!  To choose to be rich in the blessings of wisdom, care for others and giving till it hurts is, was and will always be an object of great respect from the LORD!

So, maybe we could all slow down a bit when it comes to material goods, and put our emphasis on HIS concerns - Love, Salvation, Healing and Care for All People!
