Humble

So which are you . . . .  Humble or wicked?  Those are the choices.  Humble ~ Wicked.  Opposites.  If you are humble then you are not wicked.  If you are wicked then you are not humble.  Like fire and ice, they tend to be mutually exclusive.

The interesting point here is that FATHER does not say, "Are you good or bad . . ."  or, "Are you Perfect or Rotten . . ."  HE draws a contrast between humility and wickedness.  I think I know why.

HE knows we have our moments.  We blow it.  We make bad choices.  I do. You do.  We all do.  HE knows.  What is the difference in HIS eyes, then, between humble and wicked?

The Humble will turn to HIM when in need.

The Wicked will turn away from HIM when in need.

Humility is the quality of knowing our strengths and weaknesses.  To be humble means having no wall between ourselves and FATHER when sin enters the picture.  When we stumble, we do not cover our sin if we desire to be humble.  

I am sure that humility is a learned trait.  It is not genetic.  It grows as we read the Word and understand that FATHER is looking for a character point in us that allows us to be teachable and reachable.  

So then, humility allows us to learn HIS ways.  And who will HE consistently bless with all the necessary elements required for living?  That's right.  The humble!  Our verse says that HE will sustain the humble!  That is a very good thing.  To be sustained means to be completely Supplied!  How consistent HE is with HIS Word!

So if you need anything, check yourself.  Are you covering (hiding) sin in your life?  Open up to HIM.  Give HIM free reign in your life.  Do it now, before you do anything else.  Then you will be blessed, Supplied, sustained and brought to a place in life that is incomparable!  The place of freedom of fellowship with CREATOR!
