"When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, "Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him."  Aaron answered them, "Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me."  So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron.  He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, "These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt."  When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, "Tomorrow there will be a festival to the LORD."  So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.  Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt.  They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, `These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.'  "I have seen these people," the LORD said to Moses, "and they are a stiff-necked people.  Now leave ME alone so that MY anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation."  Exodus 32:1-10

Can You Hurt FATHER'S Feelings?

The answer is Yes!  You and I can hurt FATHER'S feelings!  You may think that foolish.  You are wrong if you do!  There I go getting pushy.  Sorry, can't help it.  In the passage above FATHER sees the children turning from HIM to idols.  HE becomes very angry.  But underlying the anger is pain.  Can HE feel pain?  Of course!  HE has emotions.  HE is love.  Do you think love can exist without pain?  The Pain FATHER feels here is not a result of HIS failure in any way.  It is the result of the actions of the object of HIS love.

That being said, here is what FATHER desires from us . . . .  Intimacy!  That's right.  Close connection with the object of HIS love.  In the terrible scene above, we see Moses and FATHER being intimate.  They stood together.  They talked.  They shared their hearts.  They counseled each other.  O yes.  It was a 2-way street.  If you read on in the passage, Moses convinced FATHER to allow the children to continue in HIS care.  Moses had influence on the CREATOR of heaven and earth.  That is because he had Intimacy with HIM!

This is not making FATHER any less than the ALMIGHTY!  This is actually showing the depth of HIS Love for us.  HE desires intimacy with you.  Yes!  With you.  In our passage, the children committed adultery.  Not referring to immorality here.  They were unfaithful instead of intimate.  They missed the whole point.  They sent Moses to deal with "this GOD on the mountain."  They missed their chance to become Intimate with CREATOR!

Don't miss your chance.  It is here right now.  Yes you are less than perfect.  JESUS took care of that a long time ago.  So no excuses!  Become intimate with FATHER today.  HE will show you how.  HE will lead the way if you are willing.

The results of this intimacy is the fullness of Supply.  Notice that Moses never lacked anything?  He never carried much but he never went without either! The result of Intimacy with FATHER is the total Supply of our lives.  And I mean in every realm.  HE will lead us and guide us in our Intimacy around all the pitfalls.  Wisdom is ours because HE is our intimate Companion.

Try it today.  Just come to HIM and let HIM know that you are ready to try Intimacy!  Converse with HIM.  Stay in HIS Presence.  Let HIM be as close to you as HE desires!  Watch the stress and care roll off your back!  After all, what could ever harm an Intimate Friend of the ALMIGHTY?  Nothing!  Never!  No Way!  No How!
