Sharing In HIS Nature Provides You With All The Supply You Need!

(Editor's note: The Hebrew notion of Salvation (Deliverance) included much more than forgiveness and eternal life. Salvation meant freedom from debt, worry, fear and sickness.  Power over enemies, total victory and possession of a land was integral  to the concept.  Today many believers have been put off by hyper-prosperity teaching.  This teaching may have been responsible for many believers retreating entirely from the True Gospel, which portrays CREATOR as SUPPLIER

"
As we know JESUS better, HIS divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life.  HE has called us to receive HIS own glory and goodness!   And by that same mighty power, HE has given us all of HIS rich and wonderful promises.  HE has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in HIS divine nature.   So make every effort to apply the benefits of these promises to your life.  Then your faith will produce a life of moral excellence.  A life of moral excellence leads to knowing GOD better. Knowing GOD leads to self-control.  Self-control leads to patient endurance, and patient endurance leads to godliness.  Godliness leads to love for other Christians, and finally you will grow to have genuine love for everyone.  The more you grow like this, the more you will become productive and useful in your knowledge of our LORD JESUS CHRIST But those who fail to develop these virtues are blind or, at least, very shortsighted.  They have already forgotten that GOD has cleansed them from their old life of sin.  So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those GOD has called and chosen.  Doing this, you will never stumble or fall away.  And GOD will open wide the gates of heaven for you to enter into the eternal Kingdom of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST."
2 Peter 1:3-11

Sharing HIS Nature

Do you like things that work?  Would you like a guaranty?  How about a guaranty that you will live this life in Victory?  Well, I have one for you.  A Victory!  A Guaranty!  A Promise from the Only One who can keep a promise every time without the slightest trace of failure!

This promise is vital to our very existence as Followers of JESUS!  It will trip the enemy over his own feet.  It will give you everything you need in this life (Supply).  It is this . . . .

He has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in his divine nature.

Read that over 3-4 times.  Or more . . . .  Read it until you believe it.  That is how we add faith to HIS Word!  We believe it.  Do you?  Believe it, I mean.

Read it like this:

He has promised that I will escape the decadence all around me caused by evil desires and that I will share in his divine nature.

Very personal.  Do you have trouble with that.  Believing it, I mean.

Reasons you may not believe this Word:

1.  I have failed in the past.

2.  It won't work for me.

3.  HE does know our condition..

OK!  One at a time.

#1.  I have failed in the past.  That is actually good!  Not failure, but the fact that JESUS did not come to save the righteous!  And, by the way, there are no righteous apart from the righteousness that comes by faith in JESUS.  Simple equation.  Faith in JESUS = HIS Righteousness applied to our lives.  Now we are in the perfect position to receive HIS Divine Nature (HIS Personality, attributes, etc.)  JESUS cannot help us if we are perfect. We are not, so any failure on our part allows (if we allow) JESUS to do exactly what HE came for - help us!  So do not give up!

#2.  It won't work for me.  You may be in a state that you feel like you are so unworthy that you will never make a good Follower.  This is like a person who is so sick that he needs to go to the hospital.  Observing his surroundings he thinks, "Well, my life is over.  This is no way to live, but here I am."  He must realize that he is where he is for his healing, not imprisonment.  JESUS will sometimes "put us in a state that we are open to HIS touch."  Like the hospital, this is a temporary residence designed to bring about fast healing and is not our permanent address.

#3.  HE does know our condition.  HE is much more aware of it then we are.  And HE is not afraid.  HE is the same JESUS that was criticized so heavily for eating with sinners.  Do not fall into the trap of "criticizing" HIM for being so close to you!  HE is there no matter how strongly you think HE should abandon you.  HE will not!

He guaranties us in this Scripture passage that HE will bring us to success.  The firmer that is embedded in our thinking, the sooner we will occupy that space!  We will little by little or lot by lot gain HIS divine nature and overcome every shot the enemy takes at us!
