Cross Safely Into HIS Land Flowing With Supply!
(Editor's note: The Hebrew notion of Salvation (Deliverance) included much more than forgiveness and eternal life. Salvation meant freedom from debt, worry, fear and sickness. Power over enemies, total victory and possession of a land was integral to the concept. Today many believers have been put off by hyper-prosperity teaching. This teaching may have been responsible for many believers retreating entirely from the True Gospel, which portrays CREATOR as SUPPLIER!
"Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left." Exodus 14:21,22 A N D "Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water's edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea ) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho." Joshua 3:15,16
The Old Testament story of GOD'S people crossing the Red Sea and the Jordan River is a symbol of what HE has laid out for us. In my understanding the Red Sea crossing symbolizes our salvation beginning. When we trust in JESUS as SAVIOR, we are brought out of the land of slavery and into a journey toward the promised land. The crossing of the Jordan River depicts the second "crossing" for the Believer. The crossing into the land of Promise. CREATOR'S Supply. Notice in the Scripture above, that in the first crossing, FATHER parted the Sea as the Israelites slept. They had only to walk across on dry land. Notice again in our verses that the second crossing required an act of great faith. The Jordan was at a flood stage. Water was deep and the current swift. A crossing under normal circumstances would be impossible and if attempted, would surely end in death. Nonetheless, CREATOR said "Cross!" So as the people stepped into the raging river, the water retreated. The people were then able, once again, to cross into the land that FATHER had promised. Similarly, we have made the first and easier crossing over the Red Sea into the wilderness. This wilderness journey is where we make a firm decision to follow HIS command. It is a time of working out the flesh and working in faith and trust. Maybe things worked easy and smooth for you when you first believed. Maybe now, you find yourself struggling in the wilderness. Well, FATHER is saying "Cross!" Not it is up to us to step into the river. It may not look safe, but we will never know until we obey. The Land of Supply is on the other side of this faith crossing. Are you on the bank and fearful to step in? This is no way for HIS child to live. Joshua and Caleb knew what great things lay in store for them. They waited 40 years for this crossing. They were ready! So,
I say "Cross!" Step in faith into the Jordan of your circumstances,
knowing full-well that CREATOR
will again cause you to cross safely into HIS
land flowing with Supply! But, now the first step is
ours. We must have the faith and trust in HIM
to take it. |
