So, here we are again at the banks of the Jordan.  As we noted last week, the two bodies of water that the Israelites crossed represent the to "waters" that we cross as believers in the Way of JESUS!  The Red Sea symbolizes the crossing into Life Eternal and out of the land of slavery to sin.  The crossing of the Jordan represents coming in to the full filling of HIS supply and out of the wilderness of death to our fleshy lives.

The crossings differ in that the Red Sea was parted before the people crossed, and the Jordan required stepping in to the water before the crossing could take place.  The Jordan crossing required complete trust.  Trust in HIM.  CREATOR said they could do it.  They had grown up from being spiritual babies.  HE told them to walk into the water and stand there and HE would stop the water.

Notice something special.  We are given the highlights of the crossing with clues to what the details were.  Did you read where FATHER chose to stop the waters?  Here it is "It piled up in a heap a great distance away."  

So let's reason together . . . .  The priests carrying the heavy ark had to step in to the raging and swollen river.  As soon as they took this step of faith, CREATOR stopped the water maybe 20-30 miles upstream.  So what happened next at "Camp Israel?"  This is what I think.

A minute passed by with no change in water level.  Then 10 minutes.  Then 20 minutes.  Still no visible change.  Doubt began to attack the minds of the people.  Did they "miss GOD?"  You know that missing GOD theory has probably been responsible for thousands of Christians backing out of their Jordan and missing what HE REALLY WANTED for them!  

Now time for Joshua to speak.  Maybe something like this . . ."My brothers and sisters.  Don't be afraid.  Trust HIM!  HE said HE would lead us over and HE will!  We must only obey HIS word.  HE will bring it to pass.  While we are waiting, let's praise HIM for HIS marvelous deeds among us!"

And with that. the Great Shout of Praise began to rise from the host of earth to the Host of Heaven.  After many moments of upward gaze, someone noticed . . . "Hey Joshua!  Joshua!  The river is subsiding."  When they looked, they saw it was true.  The mighty Jordan had dropped several inches.  Silence fell over the group until there was nothing left but dry bank.  With blazing praise, they inherited the Promise!

So, this crossing for you into HIS perfect, full to the fullest and brimming over supply, will require the trust in HIM to step into a new direction of seed sowing, obedience, sacrifice and abandon of any claim we may think we have on the wilderness.  All hope lies over on the other side.  We step in and we STAND!!!  Qs soon as we do, CREATOR stops the headwaters of challenge many miles upstream.  Now we must Stand with all our might!  No turning back.  Remember, the head waters can be unplugged again if we grow fearful and weary of standing.

And as surely as FATHER wrote HIS Word for us, HE will bring it to pass.  We will notice debt rolling down a few inched.  Then as we praise HIM for what HE has done (HE already did all HE needed to do by creating the Land of Supply and stopping the waters) we will go in and inherit the Land!
